''Dixons Broadgreen Academy Takes a Stand Against Hate Crime''

This event beautifully embodied our school values.

Staff and students at Dixons Broadgreen Academy united with Merseyside Police and the LFC Foundation to combat racism and show solidarity for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Head of Year 11 organised a Football Charity Match, much to the delight of the students who came to watch. The event turned out to be a smashing success, raking in an impressive £945 for charity! That's not just a number; it's a testament to all the fun, joy, and excitement that filled the air. It was a fantastic way to bring people together and make a positive impact!

This significant event aimed to raise awareness about hate crimes whilst raising money for charity. A Year 8 student remarked, “it will have a positive impact on how pupils think of teachers, me and many more students have said about how enjoyable that moment was”. Others shared their enthusiasm, with comments like, “I loved it... and I hate football! Very very well done!” and “It was amazing. One of the best events ever.” Students departed with smiles, proud to be a part of a school that champions what is right, celebrating individuality, culture, and diversity. Throughout the game, students chanted our school values 'We have integrity', 'we work hard' and 'we are fair', cheering on their teachers and creating an incredible atmosphere. It will be a challenge to top this event. Students have been buzzing with excitement already asking, 'When is the next one happening? We can't wait'.
