We have extended the academy day to give students more classroom time to apply their skills and understanding deepening their learning.

Why have we changed the school day?

To have a school day that provides the best educational opportunities for students. In comparison to other schools nationally, our students were missing around 180 guided learning hours.
To have a school day that ensures optimum student and staff well-being. This means finishing earlier at the end of the week than we currently do.
To enable students a better experience at break and lunch times, less rushed and calm.
To allow us to incorporate ‘Morning Meetings’ across the whole school - where students start each morning together as a year group focussing on knowledge acquisition through retrieval practice.
